About
Threadcraft Labs builds home technology you actually want in your living room — things that look good, work without the internet, and last.
We started with a simple question: what if a device was as considered as the furniture it sits next to?
Most home tech is plastic, needs your phone for everything, and stops working when the company shuts down. We build the opposite.
Our first product is Linden — an air purifier and environmental monitor in a matte aluminum and walnut tower. Built-in sensors, a medical-grade filter, an always-on screen, and no cloud dependency.
You plug it in, it connects to your WiFi, and it starts working. No account, no app, no data uploaded anywhere.
Our second product is Threshold — a wall-mounted entry console in the same aluminum and walnut. Tap an NFC keyfob when you leave or arrive, and your home responds — lights, music, thermostat. A built-in e-paper screen shows weather, calendar, and who's home. A walnut shelf charges your phone wirelessly.
We design, assemble, and test everything ourselves. Machined aluminum enclosure, hand-finished walnut, custom Linux software built specifically for this hardware.
We chose parts from manufacturers with proven track records — the same sensors used in professional air quality monitors, reliable compute modules, and standard smart home protocols. Nothing proprietary.
When something can be replaced or upgraded, we design for that. Magnetic filter panel. Local software updates. Documented API.
No cloud accounts, no telemetry, no subscriptions. If Threadcraft Labs disappeared tomorrow, your devices would keep running.
Aluminum and wood age well. Plastic doesn't. We use materials that look better over time — because a device in your living room should feel like it belongs there.
If we can't explain why a feature matters in one sentence, we don't ship it. Every sensor and every interaction exists because it does something useful.
I want to build something that works in ten years, not something that needs a subscription in two.Joey Rasmussen, Founder
Both products are in active development.
